Heading into its 10th season in national syndication the week of September 19, 2011, "The Chris Matthews Show" is a half-hour weekend public affairs roundtable that examines current topics in politics and news, offering viewers an inside look at the week's biggest stories. Based in Washington D.C., the show is produced by NBC News and distributed in national syndication by NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution.

From the most controversial political issues to general interest topics, "The Chris Matthews Show" features sharp analysis of the week's top stories by the nation's top journalists. Each show provides an insider's perspective that viewers cannot find elsewhere.

At the helm of "The Chris Matthews Show" is executive producer Nancy Nathan, who joined the show shortly before its launch in 2002. Nathan was executive producer of "Meet the Press with Tim Russert" since 1998, and also served as the Director of the NBC News Polling Unit. Prior to being executive producer of "Meet the Press," Nathan served as chief Washington producer for "Today" from 1989-1997, where she headed the broadcast's Washington office and oversaw editorial coverage, public policy and politics.

As an author, journalist and no-nonsense political commentator, Matthews is renowned for his expertise in politics and government. In addition to "The Chris Matthews Show," he hosts "Hardball with Chris Matthews," which airs Monday through Friday at 5:00 and 7:00 PM ET on MSNBC.

Matthews worked for 15 years as a print journalist, 13 of them as Washington Bureau Chief for The San Francisco Examiner (1987 - 2000), and two years as a national columnist for The San Francisco Chronicle.

He is the author of best-selling books: "Life's a Campaign" (2007), "American: Beyond Our Grandest Notions" (2002), "Now Let Me Tell You What I Really Think" (2001), "Kennedy and Nixon" (1996) and "Hardball" (1988).

Matthews has covered the opening of the Berlin Wall, the first all-races election in South Africa and the historic peace referendum in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
