Deborah Ferguson anchors NBC 5 Today weekday mornings from 5 to 7. She joined the station in 1991 after starting her journalism career as a reporter/anchor for WBAP Radio in Fort Worth.
She's earned professional recognition throughout her career from organizations including American Women in Communications, American Women in Radio and Television, Association for Women Journalists, the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, the Texas Medical Association, the Dallas Press Club, and the Lone Star Emmy Chapter.
Deborah's time out of the newsroom is frequently spent at community and charitable events. She's also in area schools stressing the importance of education and encouraging future journalists.
She graduated from Texas Christian University with a degree in broadcast journalism and even went back recently to teach there as an adjunct faculty member.
Deborah is married to WBAP sports anchor Steve Lamb.

Food: Just one? Tough choice, but I'll go with a chocolate chip cookie right out of the oven.
Movies: "Sound of Music"
Books: "Little Women"
Music or Musician: Disco, yes I admit it. I was even a member of the Andy Gibb fan club!
Hobbies: Still trying to find time for one.
Sports or Sports Teams: Sport - golf. I love the outfits! Team - OU Football because of my Boomer Sooner husband. My preference is the Dallas Cowboys.
Travel Destination: Another tough choice, but at the moment, it's the place from where I just returned - Marathon, Texas, in Big Bend Country.
NBC Show: "My Name is Earl," and any show that features Matt Lauer.
